After breaking his leg on a ski trip with family, Brad Keselowski is going to miss out on the Clash at Bowman Gray. Keselowski is completely focused on getting ready for the Daytona 500 and the official start of the NASCAR season.
In his absence, RFK Racing has picked a veteran Cup Series driver to replace Brad Keselowski. Corey LaJoie is getting the call back up and is returning to a place that he has won in a stock car before.
LaJoie will drive the No. 6 Ford Dark Horse Mustang in place of Keselowski. In 2012, LaJoie won the K&N Pro race at Bowman Gray. Can he make something special happen and have a strong result for RFK Racing in 2026?
Either way, LaJoie is ready. “Happy to be of service,” the veteran driver said. “Wishing BK a speedy recovery. Let’s go get another trophy at The Madhouse.”
In an exclusive with Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports, Brad Keselowski explained his injury. Turns out, he wasn’t even actively skiing when it happened. He slipped on some ice while getting out of his car. Talk about bad luck.
Keselowski talked about his recovery and his plans to race for a little longer than you might think. RFK Racing has made a good choice to replace Keselowski. It is a shame that Ford doesn’t have a deeper development pipeline right now to give a young driver a shot, but it’s not the worst.
Brad Keselowski out of the Clash to be ready for Daytona
Getting ready for the Daytona 500 is all that Brad Keselowski should be concerned with. That is a points-paying race and matters a lot more than the Clash. RFK Racing also made a safe choice with Corey LaJoie. David Ragan could have been another option, but he is even older than LaJoie and further away from his full-time career.
RFK Racing had a tough season in 2025. They didn’t win a race across all three teams, despite bright spots otherwise. Ryan Preece showed he is a legitimate Cup Series driver. He made the most of his time in the No. 60 car and looked like he was on the cusp of winning a race many times.
With a broken femur, Keselowski is going to need all the time he can get to recover. That is a nasty injury, but not one that is impossible to come back from.
Brad Keselowski out for Bowman Gray, but fans will see him at Daytona. How will this impact Keselowski after an already lackluster season in 2025?
